Patwadi

Introduction:

These are savoury besan bites which are served as a side dish or can be had with dipped in curry, to make that in to Patwadi Curry. Makes a great dish when you run out of vegetables!
Preparation time : 5 mts
Cooking time : 15 mts
Serves : 4 people

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cup Besan
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Chilli paste
  • 1 tsp Ginger paste
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • pinch of Hing
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice

Method

  • First mix besan with water in to mixing bowl to make it in to smooth paste.
  • Now heat up oil in a pan.
  • After oil is hot add cumin seeds and hing.
  • Then add grated ginger and chilli paste and cook for a minute.
  • Lower down the heat, add turmeric powder, mix very well.
  • Now pour besan paste, mix very well.
  • Add salt to taste.
  • Cover and cook on a very low heat until raw smell from besan goes away.
  • Add lemon juice and again give that a good mix.
  • After the besan is cooked, transfer that on to separate dish.
  • Grease hand with out and knead the besan mixture in to soft dough.
  • Spread out the dough evenly on to greased dish.
  • Cut that in to desired shape.
  • Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves and freshly scraped coconut!
